I just wanted to take a moment and let you know we think you’ve done an amazing job with surf camp! Everyone has been so friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Jack has had a blast, has instantly fallen in love with surfing and wants to come back! His instructor was awesome and very organized, and the rest of the folks were wonderful.
Thanks for making the start of summer so awesome! Please pass along the kudos to everyone who helped out! We really appreciate all they did for the kids and look forward to seeing them again soon!

Your child will be met each morning at 9:00 a.m. by their own very Ohana Surf Camp instructor on the beach between 28th & 29th St. on Seawall Blvd. on beautiful Galveston Island. These are excellent sites with good waves, sandy bottoms, and safe environments for learning to surf.
As required, our instructors are Open Water Safety Certified, as well as camp being monitored by the Galveston Beach Patrol Lifeguards which are on duty at the 27th and 29th street jetties from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the day. Surf Camp hours are 9:00 am till 12:00 noon daily through the summer season.
Throughout the summer camp experience, we have several individuals join us to teach our camper’s about surfing, the Gulf of Mexico and its’ inhabitants. Weekly one of those guests – a marine biologist during the week will attend to teach the students about sea life and how to protect our beachfront natural resources. They will also create a ‘hands on’ experience by catching sea life for the campers to safely handle in an onshore classroom. We also explain how waves are generated here along the Texas Gulf Coast and around the world, so our future surfers know what to expect.
Other beach activities during flat spells allow for additional advanced training, pop-up drills, paddling, races, beach games and more. Lastly, we also offer on the last day of camp a photo program to capture your child in action, as a team member, individual or within the large surf camp group shot – and how can we not forget the famous pizza party to end the camp on Thursdays!
Grab your swim gear, a towel, your flip-flops, and some sunscreen – and get ready for a summer of fun with your friends at Ohana Surf & Skate.
